I'm an NHS psychological therapist with training and years of experience delivering Dialectical Behaviour Therapy which is underpinned by mindfulness. I tried this app. after several colleagues recommended it to patients and it was recommended within the NHS for staff too. I was hoping to benefit and I wanted to understand what was being recommended to patients.I have to say that it didn't align very well with my training and experience of mindfulness. For starters the website and app use the terms mindfulness and meditation interchangeably (the two are very different things). I also think it's overly focused on relaxation and positives which is ironic as mindfulness (not meditation) is about being in the present moment in any and all experiences (positive and negative) and noticing any and all emotions (positive and negative) - feeling more relaxed, less stressed, better able to respond to situations can be a bonus of practising mindfulness, but they're not goals; the only goal is to be present and notice distractions, bringing your mind back to task when it wanders.I feel that mindfulness which is beyond helpful for many has been commercialised to the point of being unrecognisable which has rendered it useless. I'm actually quite concerned about what this will do for people who could benefit from mindfulness but may be put off by their experiences of Headspace.Additionally, I've noticed many people have experienced considerable stress trying to access and/or cancel their free trials.

Difficult to cancel automatic subscription as company gives vague/inaccurate advice on how to do this via App Store. Meditations are repetitive and app does not represent good value for money. This is a shameful way to treat people who are suffering from poor mental health. Absolute scam

Absolute scam. Charged me for a subscription I had already cancelled, with no warning. Contacted customer service and went around in circles with no refund. Then said I had to contact apple to fix. Apple can't help. Total money grabbing scam. Avoid.

I love headspace!

I love headspace. It really helps and I think as long as you are consistent and don't expect results straight away, it can be really beneficial.

helps my anxiety so much

will admit it’s not worth it if you just want it for sleep sounds or the odd meditation etc but if you wanna regularly meditate or feel like you’ll use it often it’s so good i listen to the managing anxiety meditation daily and i’m feeling so much better, if you’ll use a lot it’s 100% worth it so calming, love it

Don't sign up to this App [This no FREE TRIAL]

This appears to be a scam, lured with limited value content. The scam is around offering a FREE TRIAL [with no intention of allowing cancellation to the App]. When I took up the FREE TRIAL, I was assured that I would be contacted to either continue its use of the App or end the trial. An organisation who is prepared to dupe their customers in this manner, feel they can abuse the FREE TRIAL offer will not in my opinion be successful in the long run. I have learned a lesson for my £49.99, always check TrustPilot before taking up FREE TRIALS. Google and Apple should be ashamed of yourselves, by effectively "aiding and abetting" this underhand practise you have damaged your reputation and trust HeadSpace deceitful actions has damaged their karma along with Google and Apple
